Box Score LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Georgetown University field hockey team suffered its second straight loss on Friday, falling to Rider University 2-0 in the late afternoon matchup. The Hoyas move to 2-2-0 on the season after this match against the Broncs.

How it Happened
·         The Rider Broncs came out of the gates firing, scoring off a penalty corner within the first minute of play.
·         The Hoyas had the possession advantage in the first half but failed to put a shot on goal. The Hoyas limited the Broncs to four shots on goal over the first two periods.
·        Georgetown started the second half aggressively and with an offensive attack in mind, earning three penalty corners early in the third quarter.
·         Senior midfielder Halle Gill had a breakaway attempt thwarted by Broncs goalkeeper Kaitlyn Tomas late in the third period. The Broncs maintained a 1-0 lead going into the final quarter.
 ·         Rider found the back of the cage again to start the fourth quarter, extending its lead to 2-0 with 14 minutes left in the game. The Broncs capitalized off a corner on a shot that ricocheted off a diving Ciara Weets.
·         The Hoyas were outshot 5-1 by the Broncs during the final period, unable to bring the score back into reach.

Of Note
·         In its two losses, Georgetown field hockey had seven shots at Long Island University and a season-low three shots today.
·         The Hoyas only allowed six shots on goal, with Ciara Weets saving four of Rider's attempts.
