WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team fell 35-24 to the Columbia University Lions at Robert K. Kraft Field at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium Saturday afternoon in New York, New York. With the loss, the Hoyas drop to 1-2 on the year, while the Lions improve to 2-0 on the year.

- Pierce Holley finished 27-of-42 passing for 368 yards and a rushing touchdown.
- Cameron Crayton had career highs of eight catches for 190 yards and a touchdown, while Asante Das caught seven passes for 71 yards and a touchdown.
- On the ground, Joshua Stakely gained 44 yards on 16 carries as well as scoring a touchdown.
- Justin Fonteneaux led the Hoya defense with six tackles and 1.5 TFL.
- Conor Hunt hit a 42-yard field goal as well as going 3-for-3 on PATs.
How it Happened
- Columbia got on the board first with a pair of rushing touchdowns in the first quarter to put the Hoyas down 14-0 at the end of the period.
- Georgetown answered back early in the second quarter as the Blue & Gray marched down the field resulting in a two-yard rush from Stakely to put the Hoyas on the scoreboard. Hunt connected on the PAT to make it 14-7.
- On the ensuing kickoff, the Lions returned the kick for 92 yards to regain the 14-point advantage.
- The Hoyas fought back and came down the field again with nine plays for 83-yards ending with Holley punching it in and Hunt putting the point after through the uprights pulling Georgetown within seven 21-14 with 6:35 remaining in the stanza.
- On Georgetown's final drive of the half, the Blue & Gray drove 55 yard and Hunt connected on a 42-yard field goal as GU went into the locker room trailing 21-17.
- Late in the third quarter, the Hoyas were threatening on the Columbia 30-yard line, but an interception gave the Lions the 28-17 advantage.
- Georgetown came back with a 75-yard drive punctuated by a big 52-yard catch from Holley to Crayton. It ended with a pass to Crayton in the corner of the end zone on fourth and two as well as a Hunt PAT to make it a four-point game at the end of the third period.
- Despite opportunity, it would be Columbia finding the end zone one last time during the fourth period as the Hoyas eventually fell 35-24.
