WASHINGTON – Georgetown University men's soccer midfielder Aidan Rocha was selected by DC United with the 60th overall selection of the 2023 Major League Soccer (MLS) SuperDraft on Wednesday. Rocha was the second pick of the third round.

• Rocha was the BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year and named First Team All-BIG EAST, in the postseason he earned a spot on the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team.
• The local product was named First Team All-East Region by the United Soccer Coaches.
• He started in all 20 games he appeared in this past season and ranked fourth on the squad in scoring with three goals and as many assists for nine points.
• The team captain had a pair of game winners on the season.
• He transitioned to the midfield early this past season after beginning on the backline, his presence was immediately felt as the team went on a run.
• Rocha is graduating from Georgetown this month with a philosophy degree.

Georgetown in the Professional Ranks

• Wiese has now had 34 players drafted or signed with an MLS or top European club in his tenure on the Hilltop.
• Former Hoya Stefan Stojanovic was also selected in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. The forward had departed the Hilltop at the end of the 2021 season for his professional career. He was selected with the 28th pick of the second round (57th overall) by the Philadelphia Union after spending the past season with the Philadelphia Union II.
