WASHINGTON – Georgetown softball closed out its series against St. John's on Sunday with a 2-1 win to clinch the series win 2-1. The Hoyas rise to 15-26 overall and 5-14 in the BIG EAST as the Red Storm moves to 11-33 overall, 5-16 in conference play.
How It Happened
- Today's game saw only three runs in seven innings with all three runs being home runs.
- To lead off, Cameron Kondo slammed a ball over the left fence line to put the Hoyas up 1-0 in the first.
- ??????Mae Forshey followed with a second homer to center right in the first to double Georgetown's lead 2-0.
- St. John's Melanie Santos closed the deficit in the fifth, launching a ball clear of left field, but it was the only run the Red Storm scored and the Hoyas took the win 2-1.
Of Note
- Julia Parker pitched all 21 innings for the Hoyas this weekend with only seven walks and 18 strikeouts over the series.
