Hoyas to Compete in "Battle at the Burr" at Howard This Weekend

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University swimming & diving team will continue its 2023-24 season at Howard University on Saturday, October 7. The meet is set to begin at 2 p.m at the Burr Gym Pool.

ABOUT THE HOYAS:
  • Georgetown will be looking to continue its success after taking first place in the Potomac Relays at American University on September 23. The Hoyas captured the season-opening victory with a men's score of 336 and a women's score of 334.
  • At American, the men's team earned seven first-place finishes and four second-place finishes while the women recorded eight first-place victories and two third-place finishes. Freshmen standouts Kira Agne and Emma Hare placed first in the 2x500 free relay with a time of 10:34.49.
  • The Hoyas swept the diving podium in their first contest of the season, winning the top five finishes in the 1M and 3M. 
  • In their last trip to Howard for the inaugural 2022 "Battle at the Burr," the Hoyas took the win with the women tallying a score of 148, and the men a score of 113.
  • A Long Talk CEO Kyle Williams and President Kamal Carter will serve as honorary coaches for the Hoyas at Saturday's meet.
