WASHINGTON – Georgetown softball dropped a pair of games at the University of Connecticut on Friday in a doubleheader after Saturday's game was moved due to weather. The Huskies downed the Hoyas 5-3 in game one, before the Blue & Gray dropped a heartbreaker, 7-6, in game two. The Hoyas are now 6-20 overall, 2-6 in BIG EAST play, while UConn improves to 17-8 overall and 6-2 in conference play.

	- "I'm heartbroken for the team, but I was proud of the fight in them throughout the day. UConn is tough but we battled until the end and had a chance to win. We will try to put together a complete game on Sunday."
 
Game 1 vs. the Huskies
How it Happened
	- The Hoyas were the first to get on the scoreboard in the first inning with an inside-the-park home run by Morgan Zamora, sending herself and Cameron Kondo across the plate.
 
	- The Huskies promptly answered in the bottom of the first with a single by Grace Jenkins resulting in two runs. The 2-2 tie would stand at the end of the inning.
 
	- UConn took the lead with a home run by Lexi Hastings in the bottom of the second, tacking on three runs to bring the score to 5-2.
 
	- The Hoyas responded with an RBI single by Kacy Lyman in the third, which sent Gabby Nemarich across the plate.
 
	- The 5-3 score would stand through the rest of the game, giving the Huskies the victory. 
 
Hoya Highlights
	- Kondo went 2-for-3 at the plate with one run, while Zamora was 1-for-4 with a run and two RBI. Her homer marked her second of the season.
 
	- Nemarich was 1-for-1 with one run in the contest.
 
	- Gabby Park was 2-for 3, and Lyman went 1-for-3 with an RBI to her credit.
 
	- Julia Parker took the loss in the circle with a trio of strikeouts.
 
Game 2 vs. the Huskies
How it Happened
	- UConn opened the scoring in the bottom of the first as a double from Rosie Garcia put the Huskies up 1-0.
 
	- The second inning belonged to the Blue & Gray. A double from Park started the momentum as a bases loaded single to left field from Claire Turner sent Dayanara Campos home.
 
	- In the next at bat and with bases loaded once again, Kondo was looking at full count before hammering a grand slam to right field to give the Hoyas the 5-1 advantage in the second.
 
	- The Huskies added one in the bottom of the third to make it 5-2.
 
	- In the bottom of the fourth, a wild pitch and a single from Garcia allowed UConn to tie the game at five.
 
	- In her first full inning of work, pitcher Kayla Dunn went three up, three down as the Blue & Gray went to work looking for the go-ahead run.
 
	- It would come top of the seventh after a double down the left field line by Mae Forshey sent Turner across the plate to put the Hoyas on top.
 
	- UConn found an answer in the bottom of the inning as a pair of hits gave the Huskies two runs and the victory.
 
Hoya Highlights
	- Kondo went 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBI and one run. Her home run was her seventh of the season.
 
	- Turner was impressive at the dish going 3-for-3 in the game with two runs and an RBI.
 
	- Forshey managed to hit 1-for-4 with an RBI double, while Park had a 1-for-3 performance with one run.
 
	- Dunn took the loss in the circle as her and Brooke Plonka combined for six strikeouts.
