Kenny Nielsen and sophomore
Diego Letayf were selected by the coaching staff and their teammates to lead the 2023 squad on the Hilltop this fall.
Kenny Nielsen
Defender
Irvine, Calif. / University
- Nielsen is a second-year captain after leading the Hoyas a season ago as a junior.
- Last year, he started 19 games for the Hoya defense scoring a goal in the season opener at Pitt and managing an assist in the NCAA Tournament victory over Navy.
- As a junior, he was part of a defense that posted seven shutouts for the season.
- Nielsen is a two-time Third Team All-BIG EAST honoree earning it as both a sophomore and junior.
Diego Letayf
Midfielder
Southlake, Texas / Carroll
- Letayf is entering his sophomore season, but has been on the Hilltop since January of 2022 after beginning his studies a semester early.
- In his first season playing on the Hilltop, he appeared in 20 games with 19 starts in the midfield.
- On the defensive end of the pitch, he aided in the seven shutouts for the Hoyas in 2022.
