Field Hockey Falls 4-2 at VCU

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's field hockey team lost 4-2 on the road at Virginia Commonwealth on Friday afternoon in Richmond, Virginia. The Hoyas drop to 0-3 on the season while the Rams improve to 3-0.

  • VCU scored first, taking a 1-0 lead at the 10:49 mark.
  • Georgetown responded in the first as Towne capitalized on a feed from Trumpbour with just six seconds remaining in the frame to knot things up at 1-1.
  • In the third, the Rams tallied a pair of goals within 3:21 of each other to go up 4-1.
  • Trumpbour added the final goal of the game with just under five minutes to play in the third.
  • Neither squad found room to attack in the final stanza, combining for just one shot in the frame.

  • Maggie Goodwin had two goals to lead the Rams.
  • Mora Marrero added a goal and two assists while Morena Macera chipped in a goal and an assist.
  • Sheridan Messier collected four saves in the win.
