Hoyas Drop BIG EAST Opener 4-1 to Villanova

TOWSON, Md. – Georgetown University's field hockey team lost its BIG EAST opener 4-1 against Villanova at the Towson Field Hockey Complex on Friday morning. The Hoyas fall to 0-7 on the season while the Wildcats even their record to 3-3.
 
Hoya Highlights
  • Lois Lekawael scored the lone goal for the Hoyas, courtesy of an assist from Darby Campbell.
  • Bailey Tietz collected nine saves on the day, including an impressive diving save off a Villanova penalty stroke midway through the fourth quarter.
Villanova Notes
  • Sabine de Ruijter led the Wildcats with two goals and an assist on the day while Meghan Mitchell added a goal and an assist.
  • Emma Leppert had a pair of saves in the win.
