Schewe Earns United Soccer Coaches Academic All-America Honors

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's Ryan Schewe was named a United Soccer Coaches Second Team Scholar All-American as recently announced by the organization. This marks Georgetown's first Scholar All-American honor since the 2021 season.

  • A United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-East Region honoree.
  • Was selected to the MLS College Showcase.
  • Schewe was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year and was a First Team All-BIG EAST selection.
  • The goalkeeper started all 14 games he appeared in this season.
  • The senior had a record of 9-2-3 with five shutouts on the year.
  • He boasted a 0.84 goals-against average and a 0.707 save percentage.
  • The goalkeeper had 29 saves this season.
  • He was the Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year and a Preseason All-BIG EAST selection in August.
  • It was his second-career honor on the Hilltop after being named to the second team a season ago.
  • Named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree.
United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American
  • Schewe was one of just 24 honorees nationwide and one of two from the BIG EAST Conference.
  • The last Hoyas to win the award were Dante Polvara and Will Sands who were both first team honorees in 2021, Joshua Yaro was also a first team selection in 2015.
  • Prior to Yaro, only two Hoyas had been recognized with the honor as Tom Greaser and Bill Bednarz earned first and third team selections during the 1997 campaign.
