WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's women's rowing team finished competition on Sunday morning at the Navy Day Regatta in Philadelphia. The Hoyas had two boats in the Collegiate 4+, one in the JV Collegiate 8+ and three in the Collegiate 8+.
Head Coach Kendall Mulligan
"We had a great day of racing on the water in Philadelphia this week. With blue skies, warm temperatures, and flat waters, we were fortunate to have ideal conditions for racing. As a team, we demonstrated the continued growth in the depth of our program as we saw our 4V8, in the JV Collegiate 8+ event, competing successfully above their boat class against many other programs' 3V8s & 2V8s. This success continued as we saw our 3V8 place a strong showing against other programs' 1V8 and 2V8s with great competitive success. In two mixed 8s, our top 2 8+s placed 3rd and 4th only to the University of Pennsylvania. All of these results were in addition to great results posted by our 1V4 & 2V4 as the first race of the day. We are proud of this great first day of racing and look forward to continued focus on our process and growth for the remainder of the season."
