CINCINNATI – The Georgetown University women's basketball team downed the Xavier University Musketeers 66-46 on Saturday afternoon in a BIG EAST Conference matchup at Cintas Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. It marked both teams' regular season finale. With the win, the Hoyas close out the regular season with a mark of 19-10 on the year and 9-9 in league play, while the Musketeers finish at 1-26 for the year and 0-18 in the conference.
Interim Head Coach Darnell Haney
	- "I'm just so proud of their mental stamina over the course of this year. Not just because we've had adversity, but we've been in situations where we could have folded but we never stopped, we kept going. We continued to play Georgetown basketball and I'm so proud of them for that. This is the most regular season wins since 2011, it's the best conference record since 2019 and I'm just proud of them for knowing, trusting and learning how to win."
How it Happened
	- Georgetown was in control early in the first quarter as back-to-back 3-pointers from sophomore Victoria Rivera followed by a fastbreak layup from graduate student Graceann Bennett made it 10-6 at the first media timeout.
- Rivera would continue to hit, and the Hoya defense only allowed one more field goal in the period as Georgetown held the commanding 24-11 lead after the first 10 minutes of action.
- Xavier was not going to give up, however, as the Musketeers staged a 13-5 run over the first six minutes of the quarter to cut the lead to five, 29-24.
- Rivera ended the momentum with a triple and the Blue & Gray would rebuild the advantage capped off with a 3-pointer from senior Yasmin Ott in the final seconds to make it 37-29 at the half.
- The Musketeers cut it to five early in the second half, but the Hoyas always seemed to have an answer.
- At the 3:27 mark, a pair of free throws from senior Kelsey Ransom sparked a 6-0 run. Xavier managed the late layup as the Blue & Gray led 49-38 at the end of the third period.
- The final quarter belonged to the Hoyas as Georgetown's lead ballooned to as much as 20.
- The Blue & Gray kept its foot on the gas and came away with the 66-46 victory.
