WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team went 0-2 in a doubleheader at James Madison on Wednesday afternoon. The Hoyas dropped the first game 8-0 in five innings, before dropping the second game, 7-2. With a pair of losses, the Hoyas fall to 8-20 on the season.

How it Happened
- Both teams' starting pitchers started the game off strong, with Dunn and Kirsten Fleet (JMU) putting up 1-2-3 innings in the first inning.
- The scoring wouldn't begin until the third inning, when James Madison broke out the bats. Two hits, a walk and a stolen base plated two runs for the Dukes, helping them open up a 2-0 lead heading into the fourth inning.
- After Fleet pitched another scoreless frame in the top of the fourth, James Madison would add a run after a double and an error. After four innings, JMU led 3-0.
- The Dukes would put up a crooked number in the bottom of the fifth. James Madison sent 10 batters to the plate, scoring five runs on five hits to grow the lead to 8-0, enforcing the run-rule as the final was 8-0.

How it Happened
- After a scoreless first inning from both sides, James Madison opened up the scoring in the second inning. The Dukes plated two runs on two run-scoring hits to give them an early 2-0 lead after two frames.
- Both pitchers found a rhythm, as both teams were held scoreless for three consecutive innings by the respective pitchers. In that span, Sage Hager retired nine consecutive JMU batters.
- The Hoyas found life in the sixth inning. A Rebhan lead-off bunt single was scored off of a Turner RBI double to cut the deficit in half at 2-1. Two batters later, Strittmatter delivered a clutch two-out RBI single up the middle to score Turner and tie the game at 2-2 in the sixth.
- In the bottom half of the sixth, the Dukes had an answer. JMU would respond to GU's rally with five runs of their own, highlighted by a two-run double and an RBI single to break the game open at 7-2.
- The Hoyas were retired 1-2-3 in the seventh inning, and James Madison would complete the sweep of the doubleheader.
Of Note
- In game one, Dunn surpassed the 400 innings mark in her collegiate career after pitching 4.2 innings. The graduate student is fourth all-time in innings pitched.
- With a strikeout in game one, Dunn is just four punchouts away from 350 in her collegiate career.
- With two hits in game two, Turner tallied her seventh multiple-hit game of the season.
