WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's field hockey team fell on the road at Villanova 3-1 in BIG EAST action at Ellen Ryan Field on the campus of Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia on Friday afternoon. With the loss the Hoyas fall to 4-7 on the season and 0-3 in league play while the Wildcats improve to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the BIG EAST.
Katherine Malloy scored the lone goal for the Hoyas, finding the back of the cage at the 53:04 mark in the fourth quarter.
In goal,
Alex Duff (2-6) collected three saves in the loss.
Aimee Largoza, Gemma Lysaght and Collen Finnan each scored for Villanova. Adie Minnella was credited with a pair of assists with Molly Zimmerman adding another. Maddi Sears (7-3) had five of saves between the pipes in the win.
