Georgetown Women's Tennis Opens BIG EAST Play at DePaul, Marquette

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis team will get its first taste of conference action this weekend as they head to the Midwest for matches against DePaul and Marquette. The Hoyas will face off against the Blue Demons in Chicago on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. before traveling to Wisconsin to take on the Golden Eagles on Sunday at 11 a.m.

  • Georgetown improved to 1-1 on the season after picking up a 4-3 win over Howard on Saturday, January 31.
  • The Hoyas had a successful outing against the Bison, winning 2-1 in doubles matches before splitting their singles matches.
  • Paige Gilbert and Julia Chu were the standout pair for the Hoyas, remaining undefeated in both singles and doubles.
  • Gilbert secured the victory for Georgetown by defeating Lauren Oliver in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
