WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis team split its matches against DePaul and Marquette over the weekend, moving to 2-2 on the season, including a 1-1 mark in BIG EAST play. The Hoyas dropped a close one on Saturday, falling 4-3 against the Blue Demons before bouncing back to defeat the Golden Eagles 6-1 on Sunday.
 
Georgetown swept Marquette in singles matches, going 6-0 to secure their second victory of the season and their first in league play. The standout trio of Katie Garofolo-Ro, Ruhika Bhat, and Julia Chu remained undefeated in their singles matches throughout the weekend. Sophomore Carolyn Schaefer secured her first singles win of the spring by defeating Marquette's Elena Duva in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
