WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's tennis programs wrapped up competition against the University of Richmond on Saturday at the Westhampton Tennis Complex. Women's tennis (3-7, 1-1 BE) dropped a tight 4-3 contest to the Spiders, while men's tennis (3-12, 2-1 BE) fell 6-1 in its match.
 
Women's tennis started strong in doubles play as Ruhika Bhat and Julia Chu cruised to a 6-2 victory against Lainey O'Neil and Lucy Webber on court two. Paige Gilbert and Ashley Kennedy earned the doubles point for GU on court one with a 6-1 win over Sofia Barbulescu and Abby Lee. The Hoyas would win just two of their six singles matches as Emily Novikov and Ruhika Bhat captured straight-set wins against Barbulescu and O'Neil in No. 1 and No. 5 singles.
 
On the men's side, Joshua Lamm-Bocharov scored the lone point for the Hoyas with a 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 win over Paxton Pritchard in No. 3 singles. Lamm-Bocharov holds a team-high seven wins in singles and now sits at 7-6 overall, including a 3-0 mark in BIG EAST action.

Georgetown tennis will return to action next weekend with a quartet of matches. The women's team will face Seton Hall on March 27 in South Orange, New Jersey, and then travel to Queens, New York, to play against St. John's on March 28. Both programs will then head to Philadelphia to take on Saint Joseph's on March 29.
