WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team lost a tough one, 6-5, to the Villanova University Wildcats in a BIG EAST Conference matchup on Friday afternoon in Villanova, Pennsylvania. With the loss, the Hoyas drop to 9-12 on the season and 2-5 in BIG EAST play, while the Wildcats improve to 7-26 overall and 3-7 in the league.

- Taylor Francis had a big day going 2-for-6 with two RBIs, while Dani Koo was 3-for-5.
- Emily Strittmatter added a 2-for-5 performance with an RBI and two runs scored.

How it Happened
- Georgetown struck early with a double from Strittmatter that allowed Nina Sarlo to score in the top of the first.
- A wild pitch then allowed Campos to come home, and Francis managed to bring Strittmatter across the dish to make it 3-0 after the first.
- Francis brought Strittmatter home again in the top of the third with a single up the left side as GU held the 4-0 advantage.
- Villanova came roaring back in the third with a one-run double which sparked a 4-0 rally to knot the game up in the fifth.
- In the top of the 11th inning, it looked as if GU had the win on a solo homer from Campos.
- However, the Wildcats answered in the bottom half with a two-run homer making the final 6-5.
Of Note
- Georgetown is no stranger to close games with Friday marking GU's fourth one-run decision in a row.
- Campos' home run was the 28th of her career, placing her third on GU's all-time list and just two away from breaking the record.
