WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's women's tennis team lost to the UConn Huskies 4-2 in the BIG EAST Quarterfinals, held at the Cayce Tennis & Fitness Center in Cayce, South Carolina, on Friday.
UConn got off to a hot start, picking up the doubles point and grabbing the first singles win of the match from Victoria Matos, who defeated
Ashley Kennedy in straight sets on court four.
The Hoyas answered quickly, knotting up the score at 2-2 thanks to straight-set singles wins from
Emily Novikov and
Julia Chu on courts one and two.
UConn's Cameron Didion and Isabella Asenov secured the win for the Huskies with straight-set victories on courts three and six against
Katie Garofolo-Ro and
Paige Gilbert.
