Georgetown Drops Decision to UConn on Senior Day

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team (16-25, 9-14 BIG EAST) lost 4-0 to the UConn Huskies (27-25, 17-6 BIG EAST) Saturday afternoon at the Mount Vernon Softball Complex. The game also served as Senior Day, where the Blue & Gray honored the four members of the Class of 2026 before the first pitch.
 
Hoya Highlights How it Happened
  • UConn started the scoring in the second inning when a double brought one runner home before the Huskies made it 2-0 on a sacrifice fly to center field.
  • The Huskies added two more in the top of the fifth as the Hoya defense battled through runners on the basepaths.
  • Georgetown was unable to overcome the deficit, eventually falling 4-0.
