WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's field hockey team returned to its winning ways with a 6-0 shutout victory at Lock Haven on Sunday afternoon. The Hoyas even their record to 2-2 on the year while the Bald Eagles fall to 1-2.
The six Georgetown goals are the most in a game since a 9-1 victory over Queens (N.C.) in 2022.
Kate McManaman paced the Hoyas with two goals and two assists on the day.
Caroline Suko,
Riley Fitzgerald, Collen Maloney and
Izzy Lee each scored for the Blue & Gray as well.
Elena Perez Alejandro and
Laney Reiser were both credited with assists.
In goal,
Alex Duff (2-2) collected one save in the win. Georgetown's defense only allowed a single shot from Lock Haven all day.
Quinty van Luijk had 10 saves in 54 minutes of action between the pipes for Lock Haven. Sophia Owens had a save and allowed the last goal in the final six minutes in cage.
