Biography

2016-17: Lam concluded the year with a singles mark of 8-18 and a 6-11 record in doubles play ... The junior won three of his first four matches of the fall season, taking down Jack Haworth of Brown, Jose Nunez of Old Dominion, and Nicola Pipoli of Marquette ... With partner Jordan Portner, Lam went on a three-match win streak that featured a 7-6 victory over Adrien Bouchet and Max Renke of Emory ... Highlights of the spring include a 6-1, 6-7, 6-4 win over James Lange of George Mason, a comeback singles victory against Luka Sucevic of St. John's in the BIG EAST Championship, and a doubles win against Butler in the semifinals.

2015-16: The sophomore went 14-14 in singles play and 3-3 in doubles play ... Posted a three-match win streak from October 9-15, defeated Lukas Zvikas of NJIT, 7-5, 6-4, Fredrik Bjerke of Marist, 6-4, 6-3, and Eddie Gutierrez of Liberty, 6-2, 6-2 ... Had four two-match win streaks in singles play ... Was 2-1 with partner Michael Chen in doubles play ... BIG EAST All-Academic selection.

2014-15: Lam played in all of Georgetown's matches as a freshman, posting an overall record of 8-13 in singles play and 3-4 in doubles... highlights from the spring season include a two-match win streak from April 13-15, beat George Mason's Aaron Capitel, 6-0, 6-7, 10-6, and UMBC's Melker Svard, 6-4, 6-1... defeated David Vieyra of DePaul, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2, during GU's upset of the Blue Demons at the 2015 BIG EAST Men's Tennis Championships... went 2-0 in fall doubles play defeating opponents from George Washington and UDC with partner Daniel Khanin.

Prior to Georgetown: A five-year letterwinner at Diocesan Boys' School in Hong Kong...Served as team captain his senior year...Was named Outstanding Tennis Player for the 2013-2014 season, also named Outstanding Athlete in Academics the same year...Played with the Hong Kong Tennis Team for one year...was a member of the Hong Kong Junior Davis Cup Team in 2012...Nominated to join the Nanjing Olympic Youth team in 2014...Was ITF Doubles Champion in China Junior 1 Shen Zhen in 2014, ITF Doubles Runner-up in India junior Guwahati in 2013, ITF Singles Runner-up in India CCI Junior Tennis Championship in 2013...Led the Diocesan Boys' School tennis team to win the 14th consecutive Hong Kong Inter-school DI Tennis Championship...Obtained ninth place in the Junior Davis Cup Oceania/Asia Pacific Region sponsored by Barclays in 2012...Reached a no. 1 ranking in the Hong Kong Junior Davis Cup Team in 2012 after going undefeated in doubles play...Hong Kong School Sports Federation: BOCHK Bauhinia Bowl Award- Outstanding Tennis Athlete of Hong Kong Student 2013-2014.
