Sarah Jenkins is in her third season at Georgetown. She returned to the Hilltop in the spring of 2014 after a successful coaching career. Last year, the Hoyas returned to the postseason for the first time since 2011-12. Georgetown went 16-14 overall marking a huge improvement from the previous year and the third best turnaround in the nation. The squad was 9-9 in BIG EAST Conference play earning the fifth seed in the conference tournament. The team's record and RPI gave GU a berth in the WNIT where the Blue & Gray lost a heartbreaker to Rutgers University at the buzzer. Dorothy Adomako and Dionna White were both named Second Team All-BIG EAST, and White was also selected to the All-Freshman Team. Seven players were named to the BIG EAST All-Academic squad marking the most honorees in the past 10 years. In Jenkins' first year on the Hilltop, Adomako was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, honorable mention All-BIG EAST and was a unanimous selection to the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team. Jenkins has more than eight years of coaching experience spending time at The Geneva School and coaching at Winter Park High School, both in Florida. She coached her squads to a pair of district championships as well as two regional final appearances. She began her collegiate playing career at the University of Maryland, but then transferred to Georgetown where she played four years of basketball and graduated in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in both English and sociology. In her time at Georgetown, she was a BIG EAST Academic All-Star and served as a two-year team captain. She also ranks among the all-time leaders in 3-pointers with 54. Jenkins is a local product out of Bowie, Md.
