Biography

2018-19:Went 1-15 in singles play while going 6-9 in doubles play … Her singles win came against Maryland in January … Short also won two doubles matches in a row between February and March alongside Elena De Santis.

2017-18: In her sophomore season, Short compiled a 1-4 singles record and a 0-2 record in doubles play … Short’s win came against UDC in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 … BIG EAST All-Academic selection.

2016-17: The freshman posted a 2-2 singles record and a 2-6 doubles mark ... Won her first two individual matches as a Georgetown athlete, defeating Sara Contiata of St. Joe's 6-0, 6-3 and Victoria Kogan of GW 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 ... The highlight of Short's spring season was a 6-2 doubles victory over Ashley Chao and Becky Chou of No. 13 UC San Diego.

Prior to Georgetown: A two-year letterwinner at Cranbrook Kingswood ... Won the individual State Championship at No. 2 singles in 2013 and 2014 ... Named All-State and All-Catholic in 2013 and 2014 ... Earned the 2012 Marian Wood Baird Cup Sportsmanship Award ... Team won the state championship in both 2013 and 2014 ... Also competed in equestrian ... A Gold Key school ambassador ... Served as a leader for Clark Park which teaches tennis to underprivileged children in Detroit ... Participated in Bridge the Divide which helps bridge the gap between high school students in the city of Detroit and the suburbs ... A member of Start Up Effect, a program to develop entrepreneurs in transitioning cities.
