POSITION: Business Operations Associate
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Business Operations Associate is responsible for supporting a broad range of administrative and financial services in the Business and Finance Office of a Division I NCAA program serving 30 varsity sports and over 750 student-athletes. Under the close supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations and her designee, the incumbent will assist in the day to day management of designated athletic cost centers. Such duties may include tracking procurement cycles and accounts payable; analyzing financial statements, ledgers, and accounts; review of Procurement Cards; and reconciliation of cost centers. The Business Operations Associate will have the opportunity to work closely with senior administrators to review and analyze budgets and assist in creating reports destined for both internal and external audiences. This person will adhere to operational policies and procedures in order to maintain full compliance with NCAA and university regulations, as well as compliance with terms of contracts with suppliers. The Business Operations Associate will be involved with special projects and other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS required; Master’s candidate in Sport Management, Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Required to sit, walk, and stand while working
- Ability to lift, carry, etc. with arms and legs.
- Minimum 20 hours per week - Office Hours of Operation: 9am-5pm
- Availability: August 2022 – May 2023
OUTCOMES:
- Implement and expand business, accounting, and finance skills
- Develop proficiency with Workday financial software and cultivate stronger technical skills with the MS Office suite
- Establish relationships and practice sound business management techniques through daily interaction with coaches and administrators
- Gain deeper understanding of business and finance operations in a collegiate athletic department and the issues facing Division I athletics at large
