POSITION: Cooper Athletics Leadership Program Digital Media Intern

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Cooper Athletics Leadership Program is accepting applicants for a part time assistant position (20 hours per week) for a nine-month appointment. The ideal candidate is an individual who is passionate about developing themselves and others, who cares about creating an inclusive environment, and who is ready to make a difference!
We are seeking a self-driven and accountable individual to support CALP digital media efforts as an intern, with a primary focus on social media platforms. The right individual must take great pride in their work and pay strong attention to detail. Applicant must have a strong understanding of social media platforms and digital trends. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, while keeping organized and maintaining high standards in all work. Needs to be able to work as part of a team and independently.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Publish content in the form of written features, photo galleries, listicles and videos
- Assist in the preparation of publications, reports, event invitations, and infographics
- Create and maintain posts related to events and content
- Develop content that is inspiring and engaging to student-athletes, recruits, and alumni
- Support digital marketing content programs
- Manage CALP social media pages (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc)
- Manage day-to-day office responsibilities (phone, mail, copies, bills, filing, etc)

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Educational Requirements: Enrolled in journalism, communications or related Bachelor’s degree program at the junior or senior level status or enrolled in a Master degree program, or graduated within the past six months
- Strong writing and communications skills in order to properly represent the Cooper Athletics Leadership Program
- Experience using a content management system(s)
- Adobe Photoshop proficiency is required
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- Creative, energetic self-starter with good interpersonal skills
- Passion for sport and the values of Georgetown Athletic Department
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced multidisciplinary team environment
COMMITMENT:
10-20 hours per week; must be available at least three evenings per week and have flexibility during some weekends.
