Softball Team Impact
Team Impact
On April 17, 2019, the Georgetown softball team signed eight-year-old Federica Albanese of Potomac, Maryland to the program through Team IMPACT. Team IMPACT connects children facing serious or chronic illnesses with college athletic team, forming lifelong bonds and life-changing outcomes. Federica supports the Hoyas just as the Hoyas support Federica throughout her journey. She is a key member of this softball team and her willingness to handle and overcome adversity makes her a true inspiration to the Hoyas.

Athletes for Hope
Athletes for Hope
The Georgetown softball team enjoys spending its off time by volunteering with local youth teams and organizations. During the fall of 2019, the Hoyas volunteered at Hearst Elementary School through Athletes for Hope where the GU's student-athletes talked about the importance of exercise and nutrition, while also having fun with the students.

Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy
Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy
While the Nationals Youth Baseball Academy serves as the Georgetown softball team's home field, the team has found ways to give back to its turf and community. The Hoyas volunteer frequently at Nats Academy, running youth clinics and helping support the teams. Nats Academy's mission is to use the sports of baseball and softball as vehicles to foster positive character development, academic achievement, and improved health among youth from underserved communities in Washington, D.C. The GU student-athletes visit as frequently as possible to share their love of the game with the D.C. youth.

DC Central Kitchen
DC Central Kitchen
The DC Central Kitchen prepares thousands of daily meals for the community. They are a non-profit that fights hunger and poverty through job training and job creation all while bringing nutritious food where it is most needed in DC. We have volunteered a few times at DCCK and is something we will continue to do post-Covid.
