Georgetown University Events Require Masks
Face masks that cover both the nose and mouth are required to be worn once you exit your vehicle or public transportation and while inside Capital One Arena at all times except while actively eating or drinking in your designated seat location or suite. All persons age 2 years and older must wear a face covering. Neck gaiters, face masks with valves or vents, costume masks, and bandanas are not acceptable face coverings. Face shields may not be worn in place of a face mask, though they may be worn in addition to a face mask.Â
Enhanced Cleaning
Enhanced arena cleaning and disinfecting procedures at Capital One Arena focus on high-touch surfaces (door handles, elevator buttons, escalator railings, etc), restrooms, eating tables, and within the seating bowl. These enhanced cleaning procedures, intended to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19, have been informed by current CDC guidance, global industry best practices, industry experts and our valued partners.
High touch surfaces and heavily trafficked areas within Capital One Arena will be regularly cleaned and disinfected throughout events by the Clorox Clean Team. After every event, all spaces and seating areas will go through an additional rigorous disinfection process, using a full suite of best-in-class cleaning and disinfecting products.
Restrooms will be sanitized and cleaned frequently. Some stalls, urinals and sinks may be closed to facilitate physical distancing. Guests must wash their hands before returning to their seats.
Air Quality & Filtration
Capital One Arena is outfitted with MERV-13 filtration, which exceeds suggested minimum guidelines. As an additional protective measure, we have tested and balanced the entire Arena ventilation system to ensure maximum number of air exchanges in all occupied spaces.
Hand Sanitizer
Hand sanitizer will be widely available throughout Capital One Arena. We also ask fans to wash their hands thoroughly and frequently, using soap and water.
Digital Ticketing
All tickets and gameday programs are digital and can be accessed via your mobile device. Mobile ticketing helps to minimize contact. Gameday programs can be found here.

- Cashless transactions are required to minimize contact.
- Distancing guidelines will be provided for guests while waiting in line.

- All contact surfaces will be cleaned in between guest transactions.
Limited food and beverage items will be made available for purchase directly from your seat with roving food and beverage sales teams. These roving team members will accept cashless transactions only.
Food and beverages are only to be consumed in your dedicated seat. Face coverings are required in all areas except for when actively eating or drinking in seats. No food or drink may be consumed in bars, restaurants, or on the concourse.
Contactless Pay
Using contactless payment is a fast, safe, and secure way to pay! Pay with any major debit or credit card, or Apple Pay for any food in Capital One Arena. All concession stands have cashless/no-touch options for payment through smartphone apps and credit card payments. The arena also has reverse ATMs available.
Physical Distancing
As of August 2021, the District of Columbia has not mandated physical distancing requirements for being indoors. But we advise that guests maintain adequate space (at least 6 feet) between those not in their party when possible in moving around the arena including when going through security screening and on escalators. Elevators are limited to 4 guests per elevator.
GBAC Star Certified Facility
Capital One Arena has achieved Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation, the gold standard for prepared facilities. Under the guidance of GBAC, a Division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, Capital One Arena has implemented stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention in its facility.
Arena Staff
All Capital One Arena and Georgetown staff are mandated to be vaccinated. Staff must be symptom-free and wear face masks at all times while at Capital One Arena other than while actively eating and drinking on break.
