Originally from Rockville, Maryland, Akira Morgenstern attended the Sidwell Friends School from kindergarten through high school… Morgenstern was a starter on the tennis team all four years and captained the team his senior year… Earned the Sidwell Friends School Athletic Award, regarded as the highest honor for outstanding achievement, sportsmanship, and total contribution to success of the team… Earned the All-League Award in 9th and 10th grade… Was named to the Washington Post 2019 All-Met - Honorable Mention list… The Sidwell Friends School tennis team went undefeated during his sophomore year, winning the D.C. State Championships during his freshman and sophomore year…  Universal Tennis Ratings ranked the Sidwell Friends tennis team as the 9th best team in the country before Morgenstern's senior year... As an individual player, Morgenstern was ranked no. 1 in the USTA Mid-Atlantic 18s, no. 125 USTA National 18s and was a 4-star recruit.
