Georgetown University Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach Courtney Dolehide has named Max Tabatruong the new assistant coach for both squads for the 2018-19 school year. Tabatruong is a former professional tennis player who will be joining the coaching ranks following an impressive career. He will assist Dolehide in all aspects of both the men's and women's programs.

"We are thrilled to have Max joining us,” said Dolehide. “He was an obvious fit for this position, not just because of his high-level playing career, but also because of his deep understanding of and appreciation for collegiate athletics at elite academic institutions. He will provide our Hoyas with a premier student-athlete experience as we strive to be champions on the court, in the classroom and in the community."

Tabatruong played professionally in France for five years. In his career, he ranked as high as 360 ATP in singles and 715 in doubles. Tabatruong was selected as a sparring partner for some of the top players in the world such as Novak Djokovic, Richard Gasquet, Jack Sock, Gilles Simon and Jérémy Chardy. While training, he spent time with the French Federation working with top-tier coaches and players.

He won four professional ITF futures tournaments in singles (Casablanca 2014, Troyes 2015, Villers-les-Nancy 2017 and Knokke 2017) on different surfaces, and was a finalist in a several international ITF futures tournaments in singles (Bol 2014, Bakersfield 2015, Dehaan 2015) and in doubles
. Tabatruong qualified multiple times into Challengers tournaments including wins over top 100 players, making it to the second round of the main draws on multiple occasions.Â

The Paris, France native attended UCLA where he was a standout for the Bruins earning a singles ranking as high as No. 64. In his time at UCLA, Tabatruong won two Pac-12 team championships (2012, 2013) and reached the finals of 2013 NCAA team championships as well as the semifinals of 2012 NCAA team championships.

He was the 2010 finalist of the Southern California Intercollegiate Championships at UCLA, and also earned UCLA Athlete of the Week honors.

Tabatruong graduated from UCLA in 2013 with a Bachelors of Arts majoring in sociology.
