Anderson joined the Georgetown coaching staff in September 2022 as a volunteer assistant sailing coach.

Anderson came to Georgetown as a graduate of Bowdoin College and originally is from Lake Forest, Ill. He started sailing when he was eight years old out of the Northwestern Sailing Center and went on to start a sailing program at his high school Beacon Academy. In addition, he raced on Columbia Yacht Club’s C420 race team.

He walked on to Bowdoin’s sailing team during his first year. While at Bowdoin, he served as an at-large scheduling assistant, NEISA President and ICSA Vice President. During the summer of 2020, Anderson played a role in founding the The Inclusivity, Diversity and Equity (TIDE) committees focusing on diversity and inclusion initiatives within college sailing and was the chair of the NEISA TIDE committee and the vice chair of the ICSA TIDE Taskforce.

Anderson was inducted to the ICSA Hall of Fame in the summer of 2021 and received the Jim Rousmaniere Award of Outstanding Student Leadership. He is a current graduate student in the Sports Industry Management Masters program.

Anderson has also taught and coached sailing at several programs in Illinois. Some of those programs include Northwestern Sailing Center, Sheridan Shore Sailing School and Lake Forest Sailing. He has a passion for the sport of sailing and driving positive change within it.
