David Smith graduated from La Jolla High School in San Diego, CA where he led the tennis team to multiple city and state championships. As a student/athlete focused on pre-med studies, David competed for UC Berkeley on an athletic scholarship and graduated in 1997. After playing on the pro tour for three years, he changed gears and embarked on a career in biomechanics, exercise therapy and sports performance. David still competes nationally, and his book, Ageless, Painless Tennis, is used by tennis players and athletes around the globe to heal chronic pain and reach their athletic potential. He and his wife recently moved from San Francisco to Washington DC to enjoy the change of seasons and the East Coast. David hopes his background in tennis and health will lend support to Coach Mesmer and help the team reach new heights.Â
