Cole Williams joined the Department of Athletics in September of 2025 and currently oversees all areas of physical preparation for football and women’s lacrosse. His responsibilities include strength training, speed development, conditioning, recovery protocols and athlete monitoring utilizing Catapult GPS systems as well as forceplate technology.
Before coming to the Hilltop, Williams served as a sports performance coordinator at Wake Forest University, where he coached women’s tennis and track & field as well as supporting football, field hockey, volleyball, cross country, men’s soccer and women’s basketball. His role included managing strength and conditioning programs, implementing monitoring tools and coordinating training cycles across teams.
Prior to Wake Forest, Williams completed an internship and later worked as a strength and conditioning assistant at the University of Miami (FL) while earning his master’s degree in applied physiology. He supported multiple Olympic sports and oversaw all training for men’s tennis during his final year with the program.
Williams holds a Master's of Science in applied physiology with a concentration in strength and conditioning from the University of Miami and a Bachelor's of Science in exercise science from Marian University–Indianapolis. He is CSCS certified and CPR/AED certified.
