Danielle Grobmyer

Danielle Grobmyer came to Georgetown in 2020, she is the Director of Development for Athletics at Georgetown University. She oversees fundraising initiatives related to baseball, women’s basketball, men’s lacrosse, rowing, sailing, men’s soccer, squash, swimming & diving and volleyball.

Grobmyer helped pilot the formation of the Georgetown Athletics Women’s Allegiance Committee designed to increase awareness and philanthropic giving to women’s sports. She is an active member of National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD) and was most recently selected for the Bobby Purcell Mentorship Program.

Grobmyer has spent the last 12 years in higher education administration and began her career in coaching at the Division I level. She currently volunteers for the DC affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network where she is piloting the launch of a local fundraising volunteer position. Her previous volunteer work includes work for the New York Chapter of Special Olympics and Women Leaders in Sports.

A Charlottesville, Virginia native, Grobmyer earned her undergraduate degree from St. Bonaventure University where she was a two year captain of the swimming & diving team.  She went on to pursue a master’s degree in sport management at the University of Massachusetts. She and her husband, Brian Thomas have two sons, Boomer and Chip.
