Georgetown University Athletics

Joey Maruschak joined the Hoyas at the start of the 2024-25 athletics season, bringing several years of experience to the Hilltop.

Before joining Georgetown, Maruschak worked at Princeton University, where he served as an athletic communications assistant and sports information director. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing media relations for the men’s soccer, men’s volleyball, track & field/cross country, and wrestling programs. He also played a role in gameday media operations for the men’s basketball team.

Prior to his time at Princeton, Maruschak began his career in media relations and strategic communications at the University of Maryland as a student. As a media relations intern and later as a strategic communications undergraduate assistant, he managed communications for the women’s tennis team and assisted with media efforts for men’s basketball and football. Additionally, he gained valuable experience as a Big Ten Network freelancer.

A native of Laurel, Md., Maruschak holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Maryland. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies.

At Georgetown, Maruschak serves as the primary media contact for the volleyball, men’s golf, track & field, and women’s rowing.
