Sheena Dean joined the department as an assistant director for compliance in July 2026. In her role, Dean supports Georgetown’s comprehensive athletics compliance efforts, working to ensure institutional and student-athlete adherence to NCAA, BIG EAST and Georgetown University policies and regulations. She also contributes to the education and development of student-athletes, coaches and staff on compliance-related matters.
Dean brings a diverse background in collegiate athletics compliance and administration to Georgetown. Prior to joining the Hoyas, she served as the assistant athletic director for compliance & student success at Lincoln University of Missouri, where she oversaw institutional compliance operations and supported student-athlete eligibility, academic success and NCAA compliance initiatives.
Before her time at Lincoln, Dean served as a postgraduate enforcement intern with the NCAA, gaining experience in NCAA rules and regulations, potential violations and institutional compliance matters. She previously served as a compliance and championship intern with the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), where she supported conference compliance initiatives, academic awards and student-athlete programming.
The Raleigh, North Carolina native began her career in collegiate athletics at North Carolina Central University, where she worked in several campus departments before becoming a graduate assistant in the athletics compliance office. She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from North Carolina Central University in 2022 and her master’s degree in kinesiology, recreation management concentration from North Carolina Central University in 2024.
In addition to her institutional responsibilities, Dean is committed to professional development and service within collegiate athletics. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, where she continues to support initiatives centered on service, leadership and community engagement. She was also appointed to the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) Membership and Awards Committee, contributing to the organization’s efforts to strengthen professional engagement and recognize excellence within the athletics compliance profession.
