Zacharias joined the Hoyas in July 2022 as the team’s secondary coach while assisting in recruiting California (San Diego / Los Angeles), Illinois, Oregon and Washington.

Prior to his time on the Hilltop, the newest Hoya coach spent four seasons with Patriot League-rival Fordham. Zacharias has had previous coaching stints at IUP, Central Michigan and Towson.

In his time with the Rams, the Maryland native guided eight players to all-conference selections, including 2021 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year Ryan Greenhagen.

Prior to his two years at IUP, Zacharias coached the outside linebackers and cornerbacks for two seasons at Central Michigan, owning the sixth-ranked pass defense in the Mid-American Conference in 2016 and giving up just under 223 yards per game through the air. Junior cornerback Amari Coleman tied the MAC lead with four interceptions, returning two for touchdowns to earn All-MAC First Team honors.

The 2013 graduate of Monmouth University picked up his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice after playing four seasons for the Hawks.
