Georgetown Men's Swimming Competes Against BC and Maine

The Georgetown men's swimming and diving team traveled to Chestnut Hill, Mass. on Friday, January 24. The team swam against both Boston College and Maine and was victorious against Maine 154-85 and fell to Boston College, 136-97.

Georgetown's Chris Lengle (Jr., Arlington, Va.) claimed first place in three events to help pace the Hoyas in both victories. Lengle won the 50 free in 22.41, the 100 free in 23.77 and was a member of the winning 400 freestyle relay along with Jim McLaughlin (So., Plantsville, Conn.), Shodai Enters (Fr., Tokyo, Japan) and Bryan Evangelista (So., Northport, N.Y.). Enters also claimed first place in the 200 free finishing in 1:48.82. The other first-place finish for GU came in the 400-medley relay as Evangelista, Matt O'Connor (Jr., Phoenix, Ariz.), Richard Dennis (Sr., Waterville, Maine) and Will Miller (Jr., Farmingdale, N.J.) teamed up to swim a 3:41.98.

Michael Kizer (Fr., Atlanta, Ga.) finished second in both diving events, he scored 234.80 points in the three-meter and 240.35 points in the one-meter. Second place finishes in the swimming events came from McLaughlin in the 500 free (4:59.07) and Dennis in the 200 breast (2:17.53). In some other finishes Hoya swimmers Evangelista, Dennis and Michael Dowley (So., McLean, Va.) placed three (2:05.18), four (2:07.63) and five (2:07.73), respectively, in the 200 individual medley. In the 1,000 free Edmund Caulfield (Fr., Caldwell, N.J.) came in third place with a 10:29.56 time. Also finishing third for the Hoyas was Miller in the 200 free (1:51.01).
