Piscataway, N.J. - The Georgetown University women's golf team participated in the Rutgers Invitational, held Friday-Saturday, October 12-13, at the Rutgers Golf Course in Piscataway, N.J. The Hoyas scored a two-round composite of 692 to claim 10th place, out of 17 teams competing. Central Connecticut won the invitational with a 640. Bucknell was second with a 647, and host Rutgers and Pennsylvania were two strokes back at 649 to tie for third place. Long Island rounded out the top five finishers with a 658.
Freshman Connie Isler (Fort Meade, Md.) was the Hoyas' top finisher at the tournament. Isler shot an 83 on day one of the competition then followed that up with an 80 on the second day for a two-round total of 163. The 163 tied her for 14th place. Freshman Lauren Frazer's (Annapolis, Md.) aggregate score of 170, compiled from two rounds of 85, earned her 31st place. Sophomore Heather McDermott (Newport Beach, Calif.) posted a 177 (87, 90) to tie for 50th place, while sophomores Jill Haak (Baltimore, Md.) and Gillian Feh (Locust Valley, N.Y.) both shot 190 to tie for 70th place.
