Georgetown Women’s Golf Closes Regular Season at Rutgers Invitational

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team is set for one last tune-up before getting into the postseason. The Hoyas head to Piscataway, New Jersey to compete at the Rutgers Invitational this weekend, April 11-12. The 16-team field will play the three-round tournament hosted by Rutgers University on the par-71, 6,024-yard course at the Rutgers University Golf Course.
 
FOLLOW THE HOYAS
  • Scoreboard by Clippd will be used to score the tournament with a link to the live scoring available on GUHoyas.com.
  • The tournament will begin on Saturday, April 11, with 36 holes scheduled before the final 18 on Sunday, April 12 with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on each day.

LAST TIME OUT
  • After the final 18 holes at the Terps Invitational, the Georgetown University women's golf team finished 16th in the field with a score of 68-over 932 (302-307-323). The two-day tournament saw 54 holes played on the par-72, 6,244-yard course at the Maryland Golf Course in College Park, Maryland. The 37th-ranked University of Virginia Cavaliers took the top spot at 4-under 860 (291-282-287), just two strokes ahead of No. 33 Kentucky at 2-under 862 (291-288-283).
 
ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • For the first time this season, Mimi Burton enters the tournament in the top spot. Most recently at the Terps Invitational, Burton tied for 43rd at 12-over 228 (76-74-78). She managed four birdies (1/3/0) and a squad-best 37 pars (12/12/13).
  • Georgia Ruffolo is second in the lineup for this tournament after finishing as the top Hoya on the leaderboard in College Park. She tied for 39th at 11-over 227 (71-74-82) after totaling five birdies (4/1/0) and 34 pars (11/14/9).
  • In the third spot will be Milla Sagel. At the completion of play on Monday, Sagel finished 87th at 26-over 242 (78-82-82). Her three rounds saw four birdies (2/2/0) and 26 pars (8/8/10).
  • Catherine Qiu will be in the four spot as she tied for 78th at 21-over 237 (79-77-81). Following two days in College Park, the sophomore totaled four birdies (0/3/1) and 33 pars (12/9/12).
  • Sunny Wang will be in the fifth spot. Most recently, Wang carded a 31-over 247 (77-87-83) to finish 90th at the Terps Invitational. Over 54 holes, the freshman tallied four birdies (3/0/1) and 24 pars (9/7/8).
  • Gabriella Eifrig will be competing as an individual after she tied for 58th at 15-over 231 (79-75-77) most recently. Following three rounds, she managed five birdies (0/3/2) and pars 34 (13/11/10).
 
HOYAS X RUTGERS INVITATIONAL
  • Georgetown will make its return to the Rutgers Invitational for the first time since the 2023-24 season. The Hoyas finished fourth in 2024 with former Hoya Megan Gormley taking the top spot finishing second at 5-over 218 (78-70-70). Ruffolo was also part of the Hoya lineup at that tournament, taking the third spot on the Hoya leaderboard.
