WASHINGTON, D.C. (Feb. 5) -- The Georgetown University men's swimming and diving team dropped its record to 6-3 with a 157-86 loss to the Drexel Dragons on Saturday, February 3 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Jim McLaughlin (So., Plantsville, Conn.) was a double winner as he took first in the 500 free (4:53.56) and the 1000 free 10:09.39. Other winners included Shodai Enters (Fr., Tokyo, Japan) in the 200 free (1:47.50) and Chris Lengle (Jr., Arlington, Va.) in the 100 free (47.46). Enters also garnered second place honors in the 100 free with a time of 48.49, while Lengle did the same in the 50 free (21.79).
Saturday's meet also produced several other notable swims. Bryan Evangelista (So., Northport, N.Y.) raced to a second place finish in the 200 IM (2:04.49) and a third place finish in the 100 fly (54.41), Will Miller (Jr., Farmingdale, N.J.) gained third in the 200 free (1:48.87) and 100 back (57.93), Mike Dowley (So., McLean, Va.) notched third in the 200 IM (2:05.48), Ryan Mrazik (So., Drexel Hill, Pa.) finished second in the100 back (57.59), and Rich Dennis (Sr., Waterville, Maine) took second in the 100 breast (1:02.12).
The Hoya relay teams also showed off some impressive swimming as the team comprised of Miller, Dennis, Evangelista, and Lengle finished third in the 200 medley (1:40.63), and the team of Ted Lin (Fr., Columbus, Ohio), Matt O'Connor (Jr., Phoenix, Ariz.), McLaughlin, and Enters swam the 200 free relay in a time of 1:32.55 to gain third place.
