ANNAPOLIS, Md.-- The Georgetown University golf team, led by freshman Nick Cook (Shelton, Conn./Fairfield Prep) earned its first victory of the season at the Navy Spring Invitational. Cook fired a 145 at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Md. as the Hoyas won the 14-team tournament by seven shots. Cook finished in a tie for the individual title before losing in a tiebreaker to his opponent from Princeton.
All five Hoyas finished in the top 20 overall. Junior Cody Courbier (Coconut Grove, Fla./Ransom Everglades) shot a 147, tying him for sixth place overall. Jnior Andreas Huber (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) fired a 72 on opening day and finished with a score of 150, tying him for 12th overall. Junior Tristan Lewis (Pepper Pike, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy) was two strokes behind Huber and placed in a tie for 17th. Senior Dan Giraudo's (San Francisco, Calif./St. Ignatius) 153 put him in a tie for 20th place.
The Hoyas will play at the Princeton Inviational on Friday and Saturday, April 13-14.
