Pittsburgh, Pa.-- The Georgetown men's and women's swimming and diving teams wrapped up the 2001-2002 season at the ECAC Championships, where the men finished tied for 19th place out of 30 teams and the women finished in 29th place with 11 points.
Brendan Griffin (Andover, Mass./St. John's Prep) finished 10th in the 1650 Free race, while Jim McLaughlin (Plantsville, Conn./Southington) nabbed the 13th spot. Edmund Caulfield (Caldwell, N.J./St. Peter's Prep) finished right behind McLaughlin in 14th place. Griffin also competed in the 400 IM, where he finished in 4:17.22, good for a 15th place spot. McLaughlin and Caulfield also competed in the 200 and 800 Free Relays, where they, along with teammates Shodai Enters (Tokyo, Japan/St. Mary's International) and Will Miller (Farmingdale, N.J./Freehold), finished in 14th and 7th places, respectively. Enters and Miller competed in individual events as well, with Enters taking 16th place in the 200 Free and Miller placing 13th in the 100 Back. In the 400 Medley Relay Georgetown's team of Miller, Griffin, Enters and Stephen Ferguson (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum) swam to a 15th place finish.
For the women, Colleen Newman (Staten Island, N.Y./Notre Dame) swam the 1650 Free in 17:51, nabbing an eighth place finish.
