Washington, D.C. ? Georgetown University Head Football Coach Bob Benson today named junior Morgan Booth (San Marino, Calif./ Pasadena Polytechnic) the starting quarterback for the Hoyas? football team.
Booth is in his third season with the Hoyas and is an instinctive leader with a strong and accurate arm. Benson had a three-quarterback battle for the starting spot between Booth, senior David Paulus (Manlius, N.Y.) and sophomore Andrew Crawford (Superior, Colo./Fairview). Booth has seen action in two games during his career and has thrown a total of six passes in the regular season.
?Throughout training camp Morgan has shown that he has the ability to make big plays and play within himself,? stated Coach Benson. ?He is a positive decision maker and proved that he is a capable leader of our offense.?
The Hoyas open up the 2002 season this Saturday, September 7, 2002 at last season?s Patriot League Champion, Lehigh. Game time is set for 1 p.m. and can be heard live over the Internet at www.wgtb923.com.
