Georgetown opens its 2002 season for the second straight year against Patriot League Champion Lehigh. This will mark the Hoyas second season in the prestigious Patriot League. In 2001 Georgetown finished with a 3-7 record and a 0-6 mark in League games. Lehigh opened its 2002 season at Division I Buffalo on August 31 and won 37-26. Lehigh was 11-1 last season. The Mountain Hawks won the Patriot League Championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA playoffs before falling at Furman.
