South Bend, IN-The Georgetown women?s golf team finished in 15th place out of 18 teams this weekend, Saturday- Sunday, September 28-29, at the Notre Dame Invitational, held at the Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Indiana. Five members of the Hoya team traveled to the tournament, and shot a combined three-round total of 1022 (339, 342, 341). Tournament host Notre Dame won the event with a shot total of 945, closely followed by Western Michigan (948) and Northern Iowa (953).
Once again, Georgetown was led by freshman Christy Larrimore (Severna Park, Md.), who shot a first round 83 and a second round 79. She tied her lowest round of the year on Sunday with a 75, combining for a three-round total of 237, good for 12th place. Larrimore has been the Hoyas? top finisher in each of the team?s competitions this year. Freshmen Erin Cockren (Westfield, NJ) was the next highest finisher for the Hoyas as she used a first round score of 79 to help her finish with a three-round total of 264.
The Hoyas compete next in the Rutgers University Women?s Golf Invitational, which will be held Thursday October 17th through Saturday October 19th in New Brunswick, NJ.
