Georgetown and Towson Battle in Patriot League Football Affair

The Skinny
Towson and Georgetown sit at #5 and #7 respectively in the Patriot League standings. Georgetown?s lone league victory came at Lafayette on October 4th, 17-10. The Tigers registered a 19-13 win over Lafayette on September 13th and won a 30-13 game against Holy Cross on October 11th, both affairs were in Towson, Md. On the road the Tigers have lost six straight dating back to 2002. Georgetown meanwhile has posted a 1-3 mark in 2003 on Harbin Field.

The blending of Georgetown?s two quarterbacks has continued from game one of this season. Freshman Alondzo Turner and junior Andrew Crawford are still sharing time under center. Combined the two have thrown for close to 2,000 yards and hit on 18 TD passes with 11 interceptions. Defensively the Hoya linebacking duo of Andrew Clarke and William Skultety have produced 67 tackles each and helped GU?s defense rank third in the league for rushing yards allowed per game (139.9).

This is Towson?s final road game as a member of the Patriot League. The Tigers have produced a 15-28 all-time record against conference opponents. Offensively TU?s Mikal Lundy has tallied eight rushing TDs and 717 yards while wideout Jason Galloway has 704 receiving yards and three TDs. Defensively Neal Regan has 68 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and two interceptions.

YOU SHOULD KNOW...
Luke McArdle is the first Hoya ever to crack any of the Patriot League?s career leader lists. He sits 11th all time in the conference for receiving yards (2,288) and is 15th in all-purpose yards (4,167).

YOU SHOULD ALSO KNOW...
Sophomore defensive end Michael Ononibaku is fourth in the Patriot League and tops for GU in sacks (5), ranks second on the Hoyas for TFLs (10.0) and is fifth for GU in tackles with 39 on the season.
