Stillwater, Okla. ? The Georgetown University women?s cross country team, ranked 26th in the nation, earned runner-up honors at the Cowboy Jamboree, held Saturday, October 2, in Stillwater, Okla. Texas Tech won the meet with 50 points, with the Hoyas claiming the second spot with 84 points. Texas A&M was third with 106 points, followed by Wichita State in fourth with 125 points. Kansas State rounded out the top five with 148 points.
Senior Nicole Lee (Palos Verdes, Calif./Peninsula) was the first Hoya to cross the finish line. Lee clocked 17:45 on the 5000m course to finish fourth. Freshmen Maggie Infeld (University Heights, Ohio/Beaumont) and Melissa Grelli (Cupertino, Calif./Presentation) were the next two GU finishers. Infeld ran 18:10 to garner ninth place, while Grelli?s time of 18:28 was good for 19th place. Juniors Kelley Otstott (Fairfax Station, Va./Thomas Jefferson) and Erin Henry (Glen Rock, N.J./Glen Rock) added 25th and 27th-place finishes to the Hoya totals with times of 18:37 and 18:47, respectively.
