Georgetown Football Announces Schedule for 2004 Season

WASHINGTON, D.C. ?The Georgetown University football team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2004 season. GU, led by 12-year head coach Bob Benson, enters its fourth season in the Patriot League. The Hoyas host St. Francis (Pa.) at Harbin Field on September 4th to open the 2004 campaign.

One of the highlights of the Hoyas? 11-game schedule will be a homecoming showdown with Virginia Military Institute of the Big South Conference on October 9. The Hoyas hit the road for three non-league opponents, traveling to Duquesne on September 18, to Monmouth on October 23 and to Davidson on November 13.

After the opener against St. Francis Georgetown begins Patriot League play. GU hosts Lafayette on September 11 after two straight seasons in Easton, Pa. A trip to national runner-up Colgate on September 25 is next on the league slate. GU fell in the final seconds 20-19 in last year?s season opener against ?Gate. Bucknell visits Washington, D.C. on October 2 before Georgetown hits Bronx, N.Y. for an October 30 battle with Fordham. The Blue and Gray face Lehigh for the second straight season at home on November 6 before closing the season with Holy Cross at Harbin Field on November 20. 

Georgetown concluded the 2003 season with a 4-8 overall record and a 1-6 mark in its third year of Patriot League action.
