Washington, D.C. - This weekend the 12th ranked Georgetown men's cross country team and the 19th ranked Hoya women's cross country team head to Indiana St. University in Terre Haute, Ind. for the NCAA Pre-National Meet. The race site is the LaVern Gibson Course at the Wabash Valley FamilySports Center. Most of the nation's top-ranked teams will be there to compete in what is a preview of the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships which will be held the Monday before Thanksgiving, Nov. 21 at the same site.
The GU men's team has posted two first place finishes so far this fall while the women have recorded a first place and a second place finish.
Sophomore Matt Debole (Winston-Salem, N.C./Mt. Tabor H.S.) has compiled two top five finishes so far in 2005 while junior Elizabeth Maloy (Loudonville, NY/The Academy of Holy Names) garnered a second place finish at the James Madison Invitational and a first place finish at the Paul Short Invite two weeks ago hosted by Lehigh University.
